List mania!
Ok, Things I have been up to since our last chat…
Went to the Ale House on Tuesday the 16th with Mike, Mariana, and Ana.
Saw Year One at the theater on the 17th, with the funniest part being Michael Cera stating, “Well now there are no berries for the fruit salad so everyone loses.” Unfortunately that funniest line was in the first minute and it was all downhill from there.
On Monday the 22nd we all ended up heading to Wendy’s for a late-night bruise (thanks Will) and lots of solid laughter thanks to our friend Helen and Matt’s hilarious impressions of her.
Tuesday the 23rd was quite eventful! Mike, Evan, Hannah, Zach and I all headed to Universal Studios (and I decided that a season pass was the way to go so this should be happening again!) Then after Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios, Jim, Emily, and Erin picked me up for what was about to be a phenomenal vacation with them. We all headed out to Downtown Disney for the evening with Steph and Joey and called it a night after that.
So we woke up early on the 24th and headed to Hollywood Studios, conquered it and headed to Epcot, conquered it, then made it over to Magic Kingdom just in time for wishes. Then we were completely exhausted so they headed to their hotel and me to my apartment since no one had picked up my shift for Thursday.
Wrong. After heading into work, I learned that someone had picked it up, but that the website was having issues and didn’t tell me sooooo I was ecstatic and headed over to their hotel to wake them up and get their butts out of bed since we had an extra morning together to work with now. So we went to Animal Kingdom where Hannah met up with us, then McDonald where Joey joined in too, then it was off to Magic Kingdom. Rain ruined the plan to go watch Fantasmic, but we were equally as happy heading back to Patterson and swimming for the night before heading back to the hotel and crashing.
The morning of the 26th was sad because I had to say goodbye to Jim, Em, and Erin but Joey was there to keep me from getting too down about it. And I know I’ll be seeing all of them again within 2 months, but it was still sad to see them go after having such a blast together over the past few days. So to console myself, Joey and I went to Cracker Barrel since it’s just about one of my favorite places to eat, and Joey had never had it before which I think is just a tragedy. I dominated at the triangle peg game for the first time ever and it made me feel like such a pro! Then we rented Yes Man which was so adorable and watched it before Joey had to head off to work. And apparently it was to be a movie filled night because after that I went over the watch The Princess Protection Program with Blake (which was no better or worse than what you would expect from a Disney Channel Original Movie). And from there we were able to assemble the troops and go putt putting over at Winter Summerland, which ended in souvenir signed gold balls for everyone!
Saturday the 27th was deemed H.K. Day in honor of Helen Keller’s birthday. We celebrated by hanging out in the Magic Kingdom and doing some modified Speedway driving, Wishes, and a Pooh’s Playground play date. We decided to preface pooh’s playground with some ice cream and the boy behind the counter gave me my strawberry shortcake for free and it put the biggest smile on my face! Then we jumped and ran and hurdled and pretended we were little kids again for an hour or so and it’s one of my favorite memories this far because I just felt so carefree and happy. Who would’ve known!
The 28th I got off work and then slept for 13 hours. At the time I didn’t understand how it happened, but looking back at all I had been doing, it makes a lot more sense to me!
Monday the 29th was uneventful
Tuesday was rainy, thus hindering my day off, but it wasn’t a total loss. Kortni and I got coffee together and it was an absolute blast. Then I met up with joey and evan for some Transformers 2 action and I was really impressed with it! Then we headed back to the girls’ apartment where I introduced everyone to the best game ever: Pop 5. It was a hit and I think everybody enjoyed it.
Welcome to July! Wednesday was my second day off (as it’s always been) and it was spent watching the Hall of Presidents (twice), eating waaaaaay too many breadsticks at Olive Garden with Matt and Lauren, then heading over to the contemporary to catch Wishes from a different viewpoint. Now I really do enjoy the Hall of Presidents, but that’s due mostly to the fact that the movie that precedes the animatronics was stellar, and in higher definition than anything I’d ever seen before. I loved it.
Thursday the 2nd was my Agrabah day yay!
Friday the 3rd I hung around at MK after work to catch the 4th of July fireworks (since we aren’t allowed to enter the park as a guest on the 4th) and I was joined by Lauren and Hannah, then Joey a little later. The fireworks were mind-blowing. Seriously they were so phenomenal, and I was expecting a lot to being with. We parked ourselves on Mainstreet USA and I would say we definitely had a prime viewing location!
Saturday the 4th After work, we assembled back at Patterson and headed out to Friday’s for some din din then it was off to the boardwalk because I came up with the idea to eat a kitchen sink (a huge amount of ice cream) from the ice cream shop down there to make for a memorable 4th. Well we ended up catching fireworks from both Epcot and Hollywood Studios and renting one of those 4-person bikes (5 when we had Lauren for a lap), but the original reason for the outing, the kitchen sink ultimately didn’t happen. I’m not heartbroken though, it was such a great 4th of july without it.
Today, there were a lot of questions about the accident with the monorails and it’s a dose of reality that something so sad and abrupt could happen here. I’m just grateful that it wasn’t any worse than it was. It still just seems so surreal to see the images of these things I see everyday in such a terrible position like that. I don’t want to say any more about that though, it makes me sad to think about. But other than that, today was great! I was at fairytale garden with some of my favorite people in the world, then after work I’ve just been crazy productive. I finally saw Steph again today, time had been flying by so fast that I hadn’t even realized how long it had been since we had hung out. But that’s fixed now, and the 2 of us still have just over a month to soak up everything else that Orlando, Florida has to offer!
Life is wonderful, I wish I could stay just another month with these incredible people, but I know I have so much waiting for me to tackle at home :o)
